University – Programs, Courses & Campuses

Students can choose from 36 courses in EQF 6 and 37 courses in EQF 7 at the University of Salerno, with five master’s degree (5-year) programs, two master’s degree (6-year) programs, and 16 doctoral programs to choose from. 

Additionally, the university offers Italian language courses, international teaching, and PhD programs. It has ten faculties.

Its main campus is located in Fisciano, and its faculty of Medicine is located in Baronissi. The campus has very ancient origins surrounding it. The campus is filled with art and architectural buildings. Salerno University has a new communication tool: a WebTV channel that broadcasts events from campus, regional news and national programming, thematic events, and regular broadcasts.

Tuition Fees & Living Cost

Third-band contributions apply to citizens of non-EU countries whose primary residence is outside the EU as well as those who are not from “Countries with low human development”.

However, they can apply to be placed in the first band if they can document a particularly difficult family situation (large family or no parent). An Italian translation certified by the relevant Representatives must accompany the original documentation.

The 3rd instalment of € 53.00 for the year of enrolment is paid by international students and citizens of Italy with a foreign qualification as an annual contribution.

For international students enrolling in subsequent years, the same conditions of merit apply to Italian students.

An annual contribution of € 250.00 is required to be paid by students with foreign academic qualifications whose foreign academic qualification is fully recognized and who obtain the corresponding academic degree from the University of Salerno.

University of Salerno’s application process is online, so you must submit your application online. Below, we provide you with a complete process for how to apply for admissions at UniSa.

Eligibility Criteria

There are the following eligibility criteria for UniSa 

Average Academic Score

  • GPA – 2.5, IB – 27, Percentage – 60

Average Entrance Score

  • IELTS –6, TOEFL – 74

Required Application Documents:

For Bachelor:

  • Online Application
  • Official High School Transcript
  • Two passport photos
  • Medical Certificates
  • All documents written in foreign languages must have a legally validated translation in Italian, marked by the Italian consular post
  • Italian Language Requirement-Level B1

 For Master:  

  • Online Application
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 
  • Official transcript 
  • Medical Certificate
  • A degree completed by Ministerial Decree 509/99

Steps for Apply:

The University of Salerno provides courses of study at various levels and in different areas to complete your personal and professional training. 

The application process has two categories at Salerno University:

  1. Non-EU Student
  2. EU Student.

Non-EU Student:

Pre-screening: Download the Pre-screening Application Form. 

Candidates should fill out this form, save it in PDF or JPEG format, print it out, sign it, and then scan it into a PDF or TIFF image file.

Please send your preliminary application to Prof. Massimo Poletto via e-mail (mpoletto@unisa.it) and attach the following documents:

  • A copy of the CV;
  • A copy of the certificate of English knowledge;

For each of the degrees given in support of the application:

  • A Pre-screening Application Form in doc/Docx format (unsigned);
  • A signed Pre-screening Application Form in PDF, JPEG or TIFF format;
  • A copy of the transcript of records;

In addition to the pre-screening application, any other documents you consider important may be attached. No hardcopy documents are required during the pre-screening phase. Pre-screening applications may be sent anytime during the year, but preferably between January and April.

Upload all documents and information to the university’s admission portal before the deadline, and pay the application fee. After reviewing your documents, the university will contact you to explain the next step. Make sure to check your email regularly.
